Hi, I’m Farra Kober.

I’m here to help you land your dream job.

I am, first and foremost, a storyteller.

As a young child I fell in love with theater, truly the oldest form of community storytelling. By age twelve I was storytelling to the masses, touring the United States as Annie. While I’m no longer performing on stage, I’ve evolved into an Emmy-award-winning content strategist, now telling the stories of multi-million dollar companies to global audiences.

Today, as a marketer, it’s my job to ensure a brand’s story is clear and compelling to internal and external stakeholders alike. As it turns out, my own personal “brand story,” has not been particularly linear. I began my career as a production assistant in cable news and I am now a senior marketing executive for a global company. In between, I’ve worn many hats as a social media manager, a journalist, a digital director, a television producer, and a multi-media content VP, to name a few. While the day-to-day responsibilities of these roles have been distinct, I’ve discovered a thematic through-line among them; the need for a keen eye toward story and the ability to compose an interesting narrative.

Over time, I’ve had the great fortune to manage many teams of many sizes. I’ve had the honor of working for corporate presidents and CEOs and working with incredibly talented colleagues across a multitude of disciplines from sales to finance to technology and beyond. And, over time, I’ve participated in many, many, many interviews, both as the candidate and the employer. Some went incredibly well and some were, well, abysmal. What I’ve come to observe and realize, is that the best interviewees all have one thing in common, no matter what the job: a command of storytelling. I don’t mean that someone needs to be able to craft a New York Times bestseller or an Oscar winning screenplay. I mean that to succeed in an interview, the candidate must be an expert in the story of themself, of their own personal and professional narrative.

I am uniquely suited to help you hone this narrative and dramatically improve your interviewing technique. Through a series of conversations, self-reflection exercises, and mock interview rounds, training with me will leave you prepared for any conversation with a prospective employer. You’ll no longer have to worry about how to handle the cliched “strengths and weaknesses” question, nor fear the surprise query designed to throw you off your game. It is my goal to help you build complete confidence in your own unique self-marketing strategy, ultimately creating a story that’s sure to be a page-turner.

I can’t wait to work with you.

Using Kober Coaching, I quickly developed the confidence to organize and convey my thoughts in a concise and personable manner. Mini-Interview with Farra:

  • I’m an Emmy award-winning digital content strategist and producer with a passion for creative, multi-platform storytelling. I currently serve as the Senior Director of Global Content at WeWork, leading the company’s editorial strategy and cross-platform content marketing.

Previously, I was the VP of Content Studios at theSkimm managing creative strategy for their social media, video, and audio teams. I began my career in content and journalism at MSNBC and NBCNews, working in a variety of roles across the TV and digital space, eventually becoming Digital Director for the network and leading operations of MSNBC.com.

I graduated from Brown University, with honors, majoring in Political Science and Theatre. Currently, I serve on their Communications Advisory Council.

After 15 years living in NYC, I now live in Chatham, NJ with my husband, son, daughter, and dog.

  • I’m an organized leader and empathetic manager. I feel strongly that to do our best work, there must be order. I achieve this by evaluating and explaining goals for myself and my team before beginning any task and laying out a clear plan of attack before setting about my work. I believe we bring our whole selves to work, whether we intend to or not. As a manager, I care for the whole person, always starting one-on-one meetings with some time for a personal check-in before getting down to business.

I’m passionate about my work. New projects are always exciting for me, but a challenge I sometimes face is prioritization. Because I am “raring to go” I often want to accomplish everything asap. When this happens I bring myself (or my team) back to the original goals and plan of attack. This helps to recenter and remind of the priorities and order in which to accomplish them.

    1. I played Annie in the 1995/96 national tour and I never missed a performance.

    2. I once won $2,000 for eating a 48oz steak, meant for two people, in sixteen minutes.

    3. Despite my lack of personal interest in sports I somehow earned a Sports Emmy for work on the London Olympics.

  • I love interviewing. Most people don’t. I find meeting new people fascinating and it’s thrilling when an interview situation turns into what feels like a conversation between old colleagues, or even, friends.

I’m curious about your story and your goals. I have 20 years of experience in storytelling to help you turn them into a winning interview strategy.
